The "Evolution of the Architect" Timeline
Before launching Math Unscripted, I spent over 15 years designing structural foundations for mathematics instruction across Alberta. The roles below represent the professional work and provincial projects that informed the 'Guided Architect' framework I use today.

Co-Writer: Dynamic Math Resources (Grades 4, 5, 6)
Co-authored provincial mathematics resources designed to bridge the gap between curriculum outcomes and daily classroom practice through intentional scaffolding.Lead Architect: CESD's New Math Curriculum Website
Designed and curated the primary mathematics site for Chinook’s Edge School Division, providing teachers with a central hub for instructional strategies and curriculum support.Co-Developer: CESD Math Framework
Co-developed the structural roadmap used by the division to align classroom instruction with provincial standards and modern learning research.

Alongside other APLC coordinators, co-developed the Elementary Mathematics Professional Learning website and facilitated sessions for educators across Alberta focused on conceptual understanding.Presenter
Shared practical strategies at the Beginning Teachers Conference, ATA Teachers’ Conventions, MCATA (Mathematics Council of the Alberta Teachers’ Association), and NCTM.
Classroom Foundations & Instructional Modeling
K-12 Classroom Teacher (13 years)
The "boots on the ground" experience that informs every resource I build. From the foundational play of Kindergarten to the rigor of Grade 12, my work is rooted in the reality of the classroom.Instructional Modeling & Coaching (15 years)
Stayed deeply connected to students by regularly modeling "Unscripted" lessons in classrooms across Alberta. This allows for the real-time testing and refinement of frameworks across all grade levels and diverse learning needs.
The Bridge
While these projects were developed within the scope of my divisional and provincial roles, they revealed a consistent truth: teachers don’t just need a curriculum—they need a way to navigate it.
Math Unscripted is the result of that career-long journey. It takes years of system-level experience and turns it into a practical, focused approach for the modern classroom. Every resource I’ve written and every framework I’ve designed is built on a single premise: Math should be a continuous journey of discovery. My past roles provided the tools; Math Unscripted is where those tools meet your classroom.
